Over the past two years, I have served as DCC designer for the new layout being built at Quantico Train station by the Prince William Model Railroad Club (PWMRC). In the process of designing the DCC system for this layout, I have also helped others develop DCC systems and select the components for their home layouts. Based on my experience, I wrote a series of articles about how to design a DCC system for one’s own layout. Now I have started my own business, DCC by Design which provides services to help model railroaders by creating a DCC system tailored to their layout. The articles below have been moved to the DCC by Design web site. ArticlesArticle 1 - Early Decisions & Selecting a Starter Set Article 2 - Guide to Mobile Decoders Article 3 - Selecting Stationary Decoders Article 4 - Basics of Powering Layout Digitrax Buying Guide - Updated Test LayoutI have begun a series of articles on how to build a test layout for DCC. This project continues slowly, but more articles will be added on this site. Article 5 - Developing the Test Layout - Part 1
